A free community wellness weekend is on the way in Port Douglas, with sessions beginning Friday 30 October from 4 pm at the Sugar Wharf and continuing Saturday 31 October from 9 am at the Community Hall.

The Port Douglas Wellness Festival is a chance to pause, reset and reconnect without needing to book an expensive retreat or travel far from home. It brings wellness into familiar local spaces, with free sessions led by our very own teachers Lesley, Noeline and Belu across the weekend.

For locals, it is an easy way to try something nurturing close to home. For visitors, it offers a softer side of Port Douglas beyond the reef trips, beach walks and long lunches. For anyone feeling tired, curious or in need of a gentle reset, it is a simple invitation to show up.

No pressure. No big spend. Just community, calm and time set aside for wellbeing.

What is happening at the Port Douglas Wellness Festival

The festival starts on Friday from 4 pm at the Sugar Wharf, one of Port Douglas’ most recognisable waterfront spots. It then continues on Saturday 31 October from 9 am at the Community Hall, giving people the option to take part in one session or shape a whole morning around wellbeing.

The focus is simple: free wellness activities led by local practitioners. Friday on the iconic Sugar wharf the offerings will be 20 min bite size practices including our own Noeline offering Nidra at 6.30pm, Lesley offering Centering and meditation on Friday at 7.30pm, and Belu will be introducing fun free flow dance. Giving people a chance to experience different styles, approaches and energies across the program.

The event is not framed as something exclusive or hard to access. That is part of its charm. A wellness festival can sometimes sound like it belongs behind resort gates or inside a polished retreat program. This one feels more grounded. It is happening at community locations, open to people who want to come along, and the sessions are free.

That matters. Wellness is often spoken about as if it requires the right clothes, the right membership, the right app or the right routine. A free community event cuts through that. It creates space for people to try something supportive without worrying about whether they already know the moves, the language or the etiquette.

The key details are easy to remember:

When

Where

What

Friday from 4 pm

Sugar Wharf

Free 20 min wellness sessions, groove stage with live music, twilight market with food.

Saturday 31 October from 9 am

Community Hall

Free sessions on 2 different stages of many wonderful modalities, including yoga, tai chi, Qi Qong, breathwork, workshops, talks and so much more.

If attending, plan to arrive a little early. Community events often work best when there is enough time to find the location, settle in and get comfortable before a session begins.
